Overview of our Monkey See, Monkey Do Game:  Parents and other loved ones invite their children to participate in a unique and distinctive monkey-see monkey-do game.  Children are challenged to imitate all of Maui the Monkey’s actions.  To begin the game, loved ones hold Maui and speak on Maui's behalf:

“Let’s practice one time to make sure you understand. With help from your loved one, I’ll raise my hand.  When I raise my hand, raise your hand too. It’s a unique game of monkey see . . . monkey do!  Whatever I do, you do the same, and that is how you play this game.”

Prompted by the book, loved ones manipulate Maui in creative ways, and children mimic Maui’s every move!  Little ones will surf a wave with Maui, wipeout onto the floor, "ball up tight into a seed and slowly grow into a tall oak tree," fall back to the ground when a pretend lumberjack chops Maui down, ride an upside-down invisible bicycle, run-in-place with Maui "until your loved one says we're through," mimic Maui’s funky dance moves, and more!  We even have a staring contest between Maui and the child!  These are just some of the wildly hilarious, energetic, creatively fun observational learning activities in Mimic Me Maui the Monkey!
