Introduction to our Read-a-Long and Tickle Game:  While holding Lickey, an adult reads the book aloud to the child, revealing that Lickey enjoys licking—especially licking people, children in particular, and most of all, children that Lickey loves. As each page is read aloud, the child discovers that he or she is the object of Lickey's affection:  “Lickey loves YOU.  Lickey loves you a lot.  So Lickey is going to lick you a lot because Lickey loves you . . . [turning the page] A lot!”  This initiates the tickle game!  Each turn of the page is a new tickle event:  “Lickey will lick you . . . [turning the page] ON YOUR TUMMY!” “Lickey will lick you . . . [turning the page] ON YOUR NOSE! . . . ON YOUR BACK! . . . ON YOUR TOES!”.  Eight different areas are tickled as loved ones enjoy playful interaction, creating joyful moments filled with laughter, anticipation, and lasting memories.

Aligned with Worthwhile Pursuits’ mission, the final three pages of the book invite adults to tell the child: “Lickey licked you a lot because Lickey loves you a lot, but I love you even more . . . Age Range = Pre-borns to Early Readers+:  Newborn babies through 1 year olds can lock into the vivid, colorful illustrations on white backdrops and feel the touch of the soft plush fur as the book is read.  "More than just a book," which only offers two of the five senses, Love You Lickey the Labrador stimulates three of the five senses: auditory, visual, and sensory touch.  In addition, for toddlers ages 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 years old, the game provides the opportunity to learn body parts.  For 2's, 3's and 4's . . . well, they just love laughing and being tickled!  And for early readers, ages 5-6, the book is what is called a "predictive repetitive word book," which means that if children can just learn a handful of words, they can almost read through the entire book on their own, building confidence in their reading skills, all the while having fun!  Even older siblings can read and play the tickle game with their younger siblings.  From newborns to any child who likes to be tickled, Love You Lickey the Labrador offers a wonderful educational family experience that can grow with children through each stage of life of their young childhood!

Materials and Design: Worthwhile Pursuits crafted the game using high-quality materials: Lickey the Labrador is soft and cuddly, the book features a sturdy backboard and thick pages, and the box is durable with vibrant colors and appealing graphics.

Dimensions:  The box measures 9 inches in height, 8 inches in width, and 6 inches in depth. Lickey is approximately 10.5 inches long when fully stretched and about 7.5 inches tall when seated. The book features a portrait layout and measures roughly 8 ¾ inches by 6 ¼ inches.
