Be an Inspiration to Others! Part II

You can inspire others.

In a previous post, we shared some thoughts about what it might look like for you to “be an inspiration.”  An inspirational person is one who fills someone with the urge or ability to do something. You must be a leader, and you must love and care for others.  In that post, we shared some thoughts on the first aspect of being an inspiration – leadership.   To be a leader, you can confidently be uncommon, different, and rare.

While being a leader is very important to be an inspiration, love and care for others also make a huge impact on the way you inspire others. To be able to inspire more intensely, you must really want people to succeed, and that desire for their success comes from love and care for the other person and their future.  Also, remember that others always come before yourself. If you have love and care for the people that follow you, then you will have a genuine desire for them to reach their full potential.  An inspirational person should have that loving and caring desire for others.

Inspiration can happen anywhere:  at school, on a sports team, at work, at home  . . . wherever you are, there are endless opportunities to inspire someone else. Basketball player Kobe Bryant summed it up perfectly when he said, “The most important thing is to try and inspire people, so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.”

Anyone can be an inspiration to others, it just takes leadership, love, care, and a desire to help others reach their full potential . . . attributes that anyone can have if they choose to embrace them.  So, we want to challenge each of you, will YOU inspire?  Will YOU be a leader?  Will YOU love and care for others?  Will you BE AN INSPIRATION?
